Starts Wednesday 24th April 2024 | 9.30 – 11.30am | 60 South Bank Avenue, York YO23 1DP
Anger can be a real taboo issue in parenting conversations. We want to change this at Family Matters York! Anger is a natural emotion, but a lot of us don’t know where it comes from or what to do with it – and this can have a real, negative impact on family life.
This course seeks to help parents understand their own anger, give tools to help their children understand theirs too, and offer some strategies to support parents & their children to handle anger in a positive way.

What to expect from a parenting course
Each of our course descriptions above will tell you how many sessions your course will last for. Most of our courses run for 4 or 5 weeks, and you’ll meet at the same time and place each week.
Each session will be hosted by two trained course facilitators, who will be ready to greet you as you arrive, and be available to answer any questions as they arise throughout the course. Anywhere between 6 and 12 parents will be attending the course alongside you.
The sessions will comprise a mixture of content; some upfront led, evidence-based idea sharing, group discussions & activities. You will be encouraged to contribute to the sessions, but only to a level with which you feel comfortable.
If you sign up to an online course, you will be sent a zoom link the week before your first session, and the sessions will last less than 2 hours, because we all know that zoom fatigue is real!!
